ANNUAL IlEPOHT 1819 ×™ on Chemistry on Natural History on Physical Geography on the Structure of the lower Animals illustrated by the Oxy-hydrogen Microscope In the enumeration of Students already given it will be seen that eighty-three gentlemen availed themselves of some or all of these lectures It is proposed to form another series on somewhat the same plan in the Michaelmas Term of the present year With the view of increasing the cificicncv of the Classes of English Literature and History the Council resolved to elect Lecturer to assist the Professor of these subjects John Julius Stutzer Esq of Trinity College Cambridge and formerly Student of this College was chosen to fill this office The Reverend Michael Biggs of Pembroke College Cambridge has been added to the staff of the Theological Department having for his special charge the instruction of the Class of Candidates for admission into this Department In the Medical Department the Council have much pleasure in stating that William Bowman Esq who has long and very zealously discharged the duties of Demonstrator of Anatomy in the College and of Assistant Surgeon to the Hos- pital has been elected Joint Professor of Physiology with Dr Todd Mr Bowman's long connexion with the College and his eminent services at once pointed him out as the fittest gen- tleman to be elected to this office when the necessity for such an appointment became known William Brinton Esq an Associate of King's College and Senior Scholar in 181G and Henry Lee Esq have been elected Demonstrators of Anatomy Mr Lee also has been elected an Assistant Surgeon to the Hospital In the School James White Le Jeune Esq has been appointed Writing and Second Arithmetical Master
