annual REPORT 1819 21 Whilst these were the numbers during the last term taken alone the Council annex an account of the aggregate number of those who have attended the College during the year which has elapsed since the last General Court Matriculated Students Theological Department and the c1 Preparatory Class General Literature and Science 205 Applied Sciences 86 Medical Department 151 oo -- Occasional Students Medical Department 33 Other Classes 43 Evening Classes 83 159 The School Pupils 09 Making total of 1291 The number of Students in the Theological Department has been considerably greater than that stated in the last Re- port During the last twelvemonths twenty-one Students having passed their final examination before board of Examiners with various degrees of merit have received the Principal's Certificate twelve of these have been admitted to Holy Orders in different Dioceses and the rest will pro- bably be ordained on Trinity Sunday This examination does not apply to those Graduates of Oxford or Cambridge who have more or less partaken of the advantages of the system The willingness of the Parochial Clergy to receive the Theological Associates of the College as Curates is likely to increase rather than diminish inasmuch as the Reports which have been received from some of the Examining Chaplains respecting the proficiency of the Candidates who have passed through the Theological Department have been eminently
