20 The following Report on the general state of the College was presented by the Council to the Annual General Court of Governors and Proprietors held on Friday the 20th of April 184U His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Chair THE Council of King's College London have the honour to present their Eighteenth Annual Report The summary of the year's proceedings will again serve to evince the continued efficiency of the College as at present constituted and the expansion of which it is capable at every fitting opportunity The experience of every year justifies the belief that under the blessing of Divine Providence the College may fairly be regarded as one of the most important instruments of sound education to be found in this country In calculating the numbers of those attending the College during the past year the name of no student or pupil ban been twice reckoned although he may be attending different classes In Lent Term 181 Matriculated Students In the Theological Department and Preparatory Class General Literature Department 132 Applied Sciences 55 Medical Department 151 404 Occasional Students Medical Department 33 Various other Classes 21 Evening Lectures 83 137 The Scliool Pupils JU Making total of 1007
