ΤΗ Γ SCHOOL 109 Section VI prizes List of School Prizes and the Regulations under which they are given Latin Verse Principal's Prize Latin Essay Head Master's Prize English Prose י י Tr Given by the Council Greek Verse Value 31 3s each These Prizes are open to the whole School the subjects to be given out at the beginning of the long Vacation GENERAL class prizes Two Prizes are awarded every Term in each Class above the Lower Third Class one Prize every Term in the other Classes -The Prize books are given at the Annual Public Dis- rihution The Prizes in each Class are given not for merit in indivi- dual subjects but for good conduct and general proficiency in all the subjects taught in the Class exclusively of Hebrew German French Mathematics Arithmetic and Drawing for which separate Prizes are given No boy can get Prize twice in the same Clas3 No Prize will be awarded to any boy declining his remove from any cause IN mathematics Three Prizes each Term to the boys passing the best Exa- mination in the following subjects First Prize -The higher branches of Mathematics Second Prize -Trigonometry Algebra Euclid as far as the Sixth Book Third Prize -Quadratic Equations Euclid as far as the Fourth Book With the view of preventing any Pupil contending for lower Prize than is consistent with his standing in Mathe- matics the Examiner with the assistance of the Mathematical Master will decide in the case of each Candidate for which Prize he is at liberty to contend
