ΜEDICAL DEPARTMENT 01 suggestions which they have had to offer and for the great attention which he bestows on their Department of the College They are desirous also of expressing their best thanks to the Council i'or the liberality with which they continue to support the Medical Department of the College and especially for the pains they have taken and the expense they have sanctioned during the past year to provide larger and more commodious rooms for the Anatomical Class and the additional rooms of which have before spoken for the residence of Medical Students On the immediate concerns of the Medical Department the Professors have nothing more to report but it is impossible lor them to assemble here to-day and not to be reminded of the great loss which their Department in common with every other Department of the College has sustained during the past year by the death of the late venerable Primate whose presence for many years past has given peculiar interest to these Annual Meetings It is subject of thankfulness to us when we consider how much the Medical Department of the College is indebted for its present prosperity to his influence and care that by the original constitution of the College your race who has been chosen to fill the exalted station which he occupied as the head of our Church succeeds him also as the Visitor of this College and we trust that your race will take an equal interest in the welfare of our Medical Students and will be able to find time amidst the various and absorbing occupations of your high office to preside occasionally at these annual dis- tributions of Prizes and thus to enhance the value of those rewards which the College bestows on character industry and talent
