26 annual report 1848 The Council have accepted with regret the resignation ten- dered by two Professors of the College that of the Italian language and literature by Professor Rosetti and that of the Spanish language by Professor Villalobos They beg leave to announce that they have filled up these vacancies respee- tively the first by the appointment of Sign Pistrucci and the second by the appointment of Robert Lott Esq The Council regret to state that the College has sustained great loss in the death of Mr William Masters Curator of the Museums of Anatomy and Natural History William Thompson Esq has been appointed to that office in his place During the last year several Donations have been made to the Library and to the Museums list of which is appended to this Report In closing this Report the Council while they acknowledge with the deepest thankfulness the full measure in which the Divine blessing has hitherto rested upon the labours of the College venture to express their humble but confident hope that so long as the College is conducted in conformity with the principles on which it was founded the same Divine bless- ing will continue to prosper and further its endeavours for the promotion of every department of sound learning in con- nexion with true religion as taught and exemplified in our own branch of Christ's Apostolical Church
