MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 113 To ensure the objects contemplated in the institution of the Library it is essential that the Students pay attention to the observance of silence and of an orderly deportment during the term allotted for reading in it While in the Library the Students have the privilege of examining the collections of bones and of consulting books of plates Each Student can take home with him three volumes of dif- fercnt works at time to be kept for period not exceeding one week Any Student who keeps book or books beyond the speci- fied time will incur fine of two-pence per day for each volume and no other work will be issued to such Student until this fine is paid Section VIII the associateship At the end of each Winter Session the Professors will lay before the Council the names of such Medical Students as shall have studied four years in the manner advised by the Professors whom they can recommend to be placed in the class of Associates of King's College for their general good conduct regularity of attendance at the classes in the College and at the Hospital and professional attainments For the attainment of this distinction Certificate must be obtained of having regularly attended the Chapel service and the Divinity Lectures Some one of the following distinctions must have been obtained Scholarship Two Prizes at least in different subjects the Leathes and Warneford Prizes to count The office of Physician's Assistant or of House Sur- geon served with distinction together with one prize or the offices of Dresser and Clinical Clerk conjointly served with distinction together with one prize This last regulation to have effect after the end of the Winter Session 1848-49 until that Η
