80 medical department Physiological Chemistry with the examination as well of healthy as of morbid products and secretions both by the microscope and by reagents The particular plan of study followed by each Student will of course depend entirely on the objects he may have in view He will be encouraged when sufficiently advanced to prosecute new inquiries and to exemplify the processes now in use To effect these objects with greater convenience the accom- modations for Students in the Laboratory have been much increased whilst the expense devolving upon those who enter to the Course has been considerably diminished Gentlemen may enter for longer or shorter time as may suit their leisure at any period of the year except during the long Vaca- tion and at an expense proportionate to the time of their stay In addition to the Laboratory Fee each Student defrays the expenses of his own experiments and the amount of this expense vhich is comparatively trifling and often very small is entirely under his own control The Laboratory opens the first week in October and closes in the middle of July with vacation of fourteen days at Christmas and seven days at Easter An attendance of three months in this class may be substi- tuted for the Course of Manipulations XIV Resident Medical Tutor It is the province of the Tuto to assist the Junior Students resident as well as non-resident in their studies The course of instruction given by the Medical Tutor is intended to assist the Junior Students in overcoming some of the difficulties which they have to contend with at the com- mencement of their attendance upon Lectures The following is the plan pursued by the Tutor He arranges his Pupils in classes each class consisting of not more than fifteen Students Each class attends for an hour during the Winter Session three limes week one day being devoted to Chemistry an- other to Materia Medica and third to Anatomy and Physio-
