medical department 79 admitted who has not attended complete course of lectures on Chemistry either at the College or elsewhere This Course is adapted to the requirements of the Univer- sity of London and of the Medical Boards of the Army and Navy as well as to all who with objects professional or other- wise wish to obtain an acquaintance with the process of Mani- pulation Materials for working are supplied free of charge but all damage done to apparatus must be repaired at the expense of the Student who may have occasioned the same XIII Analytical and Experimental Chemistry In addition to the Chemical Course and to the Summer Class of Manipulation accommodation is provided for those Students who may wish to acquire more minute acquaint- ance with certain subdivisions of the science than can be con- veyed in regular course of lectures Class has therefore been formed for this purpose which is conducted in the Laboratory under the superintendence of the Professor and Demonstrator By this means each Student will be enabled to familiarize himself with the methods of analysis and the operations of research Attention will be particularly given to- Analytical Chemistry including the preparation of the principal tests and reagents in state of purity-the exami- nation of the more important Metallic Ores as those of Iron Lead Copper Tin Silver Cobalt and Nickel-the Analysis of Coal-Building-stones &c and the various modifications of Organic Analysis Agricultural Chemistry comprising the examinations of Soils Manures-the Saline and Organic Constituents of Plants Processes of Manufacturing Art involving also an exami- nation as well of the products of art as of the crude materials produced by the Vegetable Kingdom such as colouring matters drugs and dye-stuffs and
