medical department 77 the consideration of Injuries and Surgical Diseases of Textures The Course then proceeds with the description of Injuries and Diseases of Joints and concludes with series of Lectures on Surgical Anatomy and Operative Surgery To these Lectures belongs the large collection of Diagrams and Casts presented to the College by II Green Esq and Professor Ferguson VII Principles and Practice of Medicine The Lectures on this subject are exemplified by Prepara- tions DraAvings and Models and by recent Specimens of dis- eased structure In this first part of the Course the subjects are considered in general manner and without reference to particular cases Special Diseases are then treated of VIII Midwifery and the Diseases of Women and Children These Lectures are illustrated by series of Drawings Dissections and Preparations Practical instruction is given in the use of Instruments and cases of Midwifery are assigned to Pupils after attending their first Course IX Botany In these Lectures the organization of Plants is demonstrated their physiology explained and the different modes of classi- fication natural and artificial described The subjects treated of are illustrated by fresh and dried specimens of Plants and by large collection of Drawings and Diagrams The Pupils have frequent opportunities during the Course of attending the Professor on Herborizing Excursions Forensic Medicine These Lectures treat at full length of the legal and medical relations of each question in Forensic Medicine including Toxicology the Course is illustrated by drawings prepara- tions and tables and by numerous examples lrom recorded trials At the end of the Course few Lectures are given on the Public Health
