MEDICAL DEPARTMENT 83 Section VIII ENDOWMENTS SCHOLARSHIPS AND PRIZES Ufat rfl' En&otomcnt The interest of 300 bequeathed by the late II Leathes Esq is applied annually in the purchase of large Bible and large Prayer-Book which are given to the two Medical Students who are found most worthy of the same for their proficiency in religious knowledge and for general good eon- duct All Matriculated Students may be Candidates for these Prizes They must produce Certificates of regular attendance at the College Chapel The next Examination will take place in October 1846 upon the following subjects The Gospel of St John The Church Catechism The Thirty-nine Articles Articles XIX XX SISlarnrforD Enttotomntt These Prizes were founded by the Rev Dr Warneford for the encouragement of the study of Theology among the Matriculated Medical Students of King's College There are two Prizes the first consisting of medal of the value of ten pounds and books of the value of fifteen pounds the second consisting of medal of the value of five pounds and books of the value often pounds The Candidates for these Prizes are examined in-1 The Holy Scriptures Butler's Analogy Two of the branches of Medical Science taught in the College to be selected by the Candidates want of sufficient knowledge in the Theological part will disqualify for examination in the Medical
