medical department 105 in Physicians' Prescriptions and the Pharmacopoeia Jjondincnsis in Chemistry in Materia Medica and Therapeutics -in Botany -in Anatomy and Physiology -in the Principles and Practice of Medicine Midwifery The Examination of the Candidate for certificate of qualification to act as Assistant to an Apothecary in compounding and dispensing medicines will lie as follows In translating Physicians' Prescriptions and the Pharmacopoeia hmdi- nens'is In Pharmacy and Materia Medica By the 22 section of the Act of Parliament no rejected candidate for certificate to practise as an Apothecary can be re-examined until he expiration of six months from his former examination and no rejected candidate as an Assistant until the expiration of three months The Court meet in the Hall every Thursday where candidates arc required to attend at quarter before four o'clock The Act directs the following sums to be paid for certificates -For London and within ten miles thereof ten guineas For all other parts of England and Wales six guineas Persons having paid the latter sum become entitled to practise in London and within ten miles thereof by paying four guineas in addition For an Assistant's certificate two guineas Section XVII REGULATIONS OF THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY candidate for an Assistant-Surgeoncy in the Army is required to fill up blank form of certificate which may be obtained at the office by written application to the Director-General specifying by whom he is recommended his Christian and surname at fidl length the course of study he has pursued viz -the lectures the lecturers' names places where the lectures were delivered and the number of months during which he attended in accordance with the regulations together with any others in his possession If he possess any University degree he must also state its nature whether Λ Β or diploma in Surgery and when and at what College or University it was obtained The number of months' attendance at hospital or infirmary must also be stated aud if he have attended at hospitals for mental derangement and diseases of the eye or lying-in institution particulars of such attendance must also be furnished The candidates must be unmarried not beyond twenty-six years of age nor under twenty-one years Candidates who have had an University education and have the degree of or as well as that of will be preferred but liberal education and competent knowledge of the Greek and Latin languages are indispensably requisite in every candidate and the greater the attainments of
