102 MEDICAL DEPARTMENT months each of having attended at least two Courses of Lectures on tlie Prin- ciples and Practice of Surgery delivered in two distinct periods or seasons and one Course on each of the following subjects viz the Practice of Physic Che- mistry Materia Medica and Midwifery with Practical Instruction 11 Mem- hers and Licentiates in Surgery of any legally constituted College of Surgeons in tbe United Kingdom and Graduates in Surgery of any University requiring residence to obtain Degrees will be admitted for Examination on producing their Diploma License or Degree together with proofs of being twenty-one years of age and of having been occupied at least four years in the acquirement of professional knowledge III Graduates in Medicine of any legally const i- tuted College or University requiring residence to obtain Degrees will be admitted for Examination ou adducing together with their Diploma or Degree proof of having completed the Anatomical and Surgical Education required by the foregoing Regulations either at the School of the University where they shall have graduated or at recognised School or Schools in the United King- dom IV Certificates will not be received from Candidates for the Diploma who have studied in London unless they shall have registered their ticket- it the College as required by the Regulations during the last ten days of January March and October in each year nor from Candidates who have studied else- where unless their names regtdarly appear in the Registers transmitted from their respective Schools NJ3 In the Certificates of attendance on Hospital Practice and on Lectures it is required that the dates of commencement and termination be clearly expressed and no interlineation erasure or alteration will be allowed Blank forms of the required Certificates may be obtained on application to the Secre- tary to whom they must be delivered properly filled up ten days before the Candidate can be admitted to examination and all such Certificates are retained at the College Section XVI society of apotiikcaries Every Candidate for Certificate of Qualification to practise as au Apothe- cary will be required to produce Testimonials of having served an Apprentice- ship of not less than live year- to an Apothecary No gentleman practising as an Apothecary in England or Wales can give his apprentice legal title to examination unless he is himself legally qualified to practise as au Apothecary either by having been in practice prior to or on the 1st of August 1815 or by having received certificate of his qualification from the Court of Kxaminers An apprenticeship for not less than five years to Surgeons practising as Apo- thecaries in Ireland and Scotland gives to the apprentice title to lie admitted to examination Of having attained the full age of twenty-one years As evidence of age copy of the baptismal register will be required in every case where it can possibly be procured Of good moral conduct testimonial of moral character from the gentleman to whom the Candidate has been au
