Calendars of King's College London

Between 1831 and 1986, King’s College London published annual ‘calendars’ containing a wealth of information on life at King's.

These calendars detail the first student admissions to King’s and were a primary resource for researching individual students and staff until 1986 - following King's merger with Queen Elizabeth College and Chelsea College.

Typically the calendars contain an annual report that summarises the year at King's. They also include:

  • Notable events and achievements
  • Lists of students and staff by department and faculty
  • Information on courses and examinations
  • Details of degrees, prizes and scholarships awarded

Physical copies of the calendars can be consulted in the reading room of King's College London Archives

Please note:

This site contains the first part of our digitised calendar collection. We will be improving the speed of the site and adding remaining calendar content in due course. Until then, searches and some page views may take several seconds to appear.

The calendars in this site have had their contents extracted using OCR (optical character recognition) and as a result, there may be occasional errors in the text. We are working on correcting these errors, but this may take some time.
